Posting title Telecom Manager
Position profile The selected person will manage a team of Intermediate, Junior and Senior telecom engineer delivering Infrastructure and Telecommunication projects and actively participate in the deployment of project governance. The delivery team is composed of permanent CN employees and consultants hire on a project base requirement.

Build's overall responsibility is for all infrastructure and network integration of new technologies in accordance with enterprise architecture roadmaps.
The selected person will focus on quality delivery to assure an harmonious transition to core.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, upgrade, and support of the corporate telecommunications, including enterprise voice
  • Overall responsibility for all network integration of new IP network & telephony services technologies
  • Leads the service, delivery and support strategies (including enterprise service levels) for all services related projects
  • Responsible for alignment of Telecom Integration activities in support of CN activities.
  • Responsible for development of effective communication channels between IT groups.
  • Participates in the analysis of existing telecom operations and recommends new products and systems to improve network and telecommunications reliability, throughput, and productivity.
  • Participates in research and evaluation of new technologies and implements them.
  • Partner with IT and external service providers to develop, implement, and maintain the telecom infrastructure solutions necessary to support the current and future business requirements
  • Coordinates and maintains service contracts and maintenance agreements for telecom services and equipment
  • Prepares budget and correspondence relating to telecommunications systems, operation and maintenance
  • Communicate regularly with internal customers, as appropriate, to ensure the delivery of high quality telecom systems.
  • Monitor and track the progress of each project. Communicate project status and issues.
  • Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to staff.
  • Responsible for the implementation of the enterprise services architecture
  • Responsible for the liaisons with application management and delivery as well as Signals and Communication (S&C) on the capabilities and constraints of the production network environment
  • Supports business continuity planning and disaster recovery (BCP/DR) readiness for services operations and administration in accordance with defined IT and business continuity plan and objectives
  • Responsible for the selection, direction, and performance of telecommunication engineering and analysis studies
  • Supervises and manages sustained engineering projects, test and evaluation programs, and performs normal engineering services (e.g., transmission, circuit design software)
  • Conducts long-term strategic planning activities for LAN/WAN development and implementation including transmission media, system architecture, and general technology guidelines
  • Responsible for long-term strategic planning to ensure network capacity meets current and future network requirements including planning for remote hardware and communications facilities, development and implementation of methodologies for system analysis, installation, and support
  • Identify and act on opportunities to improve the Telecom processes

Skills set:
  • 8 to 10 years experience in managing IT telecommunications
  • Comprehensive knowledge of telecommunications service level contracts and maintenance agreements
  • Process driven and able to turn strategy into tactical actionable tasks.
  • Ability to manage team members in both peer and direct reporting relationships
  • Time management skills and prioritization
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic direction to achieve results consistently.
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Experience in Network and telecommunications design and implementation
  • Hands on experience of telecommunications hardware and software
  • Experience with telecom configuration, management and monitoring
  • Knowledge of the common sources of trouble in telecommunications equipment and lines
  • Ability to stay abreast of technological changes in the field of telecommunications
