Posting title Infrastructure and Telecommunications Portfolio Manager
Position profile Provides support to Senior Manager, Business Management, in the development and governance of processes related to Infrastructure & Telecommunications (I&T) Portfolio Management, Financial Management, and Demand Management.
The individual will be responsible for providing an advisory role in the analysis and reporting functions to the Senior Management Team with regards to overall workload demand – projects and operating.

The selected person will Interface with the different internal teams and influence the development, prioritization, and execution of Infrastructure &Telecommunications Portfolio and will assist in deciding the role and evolution of technology used in delivering operational and business solutions.

With the Senior Manager Business Management, the Portfolio Manager will lead the delivery of roadmaps across the operating units within Infrastructure and Telecommunications. This includes life-cycle management of the assets and compliance to financial and technology plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the life-cycle of the assets (determine when an asset will need to be replaced and which type of assets could/should be introduced to the existing infrastructure).
  • Overall responsibility for Governance and management of I&T Technology portfolio.
  • Involved in budgets for I&T and responsible for prioritizing projects, monitor that spending occurs as planned, identify opportunities to optimize and develop services.
  • Influence in deciding the role and evolution of technology used in delivering operational and business solutions.
  • Provide recommendations to I&T Senior Manager, Business Management on the prioritization of key initiatives undertaken by I&T.
  • Responsible for providing fiduciary role in ensuring we are delivering to plan on our capital commitments and making sure spending and savings occur as planned.
  • Responsible to review, analyze, and make recommendations for financial plans within the Infrastructure and Telecommunication Department
  • Responsible to identify value added services for I&T and ensure the proper definition, alignment within the organization, and necessary commitment (resources and funding) are provided.
  • Responsible for long-term strategic planning to ensure network capacity meets current and future network requirements including planning for remote hardware and communications facilities, development and implementation of methodologies for system analysis, installation, and support
  • Identify and act on opportunities to achieve benefit.


Skills set:

  • 8 to 10 years experience in managing IT operations or IT capital projects
  • Comprehensive knowledge of infrastructure and telecommunications technologies with respect to configuration, management, and monitoring
  • Comprehensive knowledge of technology contracts and maintenance agreements to support financial planning and budgeting processes
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with both Senior Management across organizational teams
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic direction to achieve results consistently.
  • Process driven and able to turn strategy into tactical actionable tasks.
  • Operational and results focus and able prioritize a high volume of initiatives
  • Ability to stay abreast of technological changes within infrastructure and telecommunications
  • Creativity and strong analytic and presentation skills
