Posting title S&C Supervisor – Great Lakes Installations
Position profile
Role :
Safeguard the integrity of the signal system by ensuring policies, standards and safe practices are understood and implemented, and to ensure awareness and knowledge of safe signaling methodologies. Perform field auditing to ensure compliance with established S&C safety and regulatory standards.

  • Project management planning for CTC, WIS, XNG, radio, and S&C plant renewal,
  • Develop safety assurance standards and templates for the installation, maintenance, and validation of signal operations,
  • Provide mentoring on the key principles of safe signaling practices,
  • Supervise and provide technical support to the Rail Traffic Control Centre for incident and failure investigation,
  • Supervise unionized employees, and Contractor's

Working Conditions:

  • On-call for situations across assigned territory,
  • Work environment is a combination of office and field work,
  • Travel is required.

Job requirements:

  • Strong leadership skills,
  • Ability to plan and prioritize,
  • Technical experience in railway signaling,
  • Basic computer skills (Work, Excel, Outlook, SAP etc.),
  • Ability to manage large groups in a unionized environment,
  • Experience in a safety critical environment,
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.


  • 3-5 years experience on the railroad, or 3-5 years experience in the field/industrial environment managing employees,
  • Electrical Engineering degree an asset - not required,
  • Valid driver's license
